Frome Town AFC's Board would like to clarify the situation on recent goings-on regarding the future of the ground.
Though disappointed, we accept the result of Thursday's EGM

After Thursday’s Extraordinary General Meeting to consider a proposal to lease Badgers Hill to a private operator, the Board are disappointed that the current proposal was found not to meet the legal criteria for best consideration.
Though the Board understand and respect the Frome Town Council’s concerns, we would like to reiterate that the motives behind the proposal have always been focused on benefitting the community, not solely football in the town
Given councilors wanted to see more detail and clarity on community engagement, the Board would like to reassure all supporters of the Club and residents in Frome that we have been in contact with the private operator for several months and firmly believe that their involvement in Frome will be of significant benefit to the town.
The private operator is working with FTC on a revised proposal to which will fully detail the community benefit strategy. This includes working alongside both Frome Town Women FC and Frome Town United and continuing to build on our relationships with key town organisations such as Fair Frome, while bringing increased transparency to those objectives.
This is the next step, one that was invited by FTC after the meeting and displays the private operator’s perseverance and commitment to a better future at Badgers Hill. Already, a substantial amount of work has been done behind the scenes in relation to the potential takeover of the lease and now that requirements have been identified, a fine-tuned proposal is being worked on. The Club will continue to offer our support to the private operator in the community benefit elements of the revised proposal.
We are hopeful that FTC’s concerns can be addressed promptly and that a proposal can be approved to the satisfaction of all stakeholders involved. In the meantime, it is business as usual as we continue our preparations for what is sure to be an exciting 25-26 season.
