Sam Meakes Rejoins Ahead of 25/26 Season!

We welcome back the young striker to Badgers Hill!
The Club is delighted to have agreed to re-sign Sam Meakes who returns to the West Country ahead of the new campaign.
Sam is a student at Bath University and, last season, returned home to the South East to complete a year of work experience. During the 24-25 season, the 21-year-old enjoyed a return to St Albans City and played a handful of games in the National League South before joining Hayes and Yeading on loan. His return to the West Country this summer ahead of his final year has been confirmed and we look forward to welcoming him back to BA11!
Sam was signed in February 2023 and appeared 52 times for the Robins before his departure last summer. In our promotion-winning season, he made a significant impression with 9 goals in 39 outings, leading the line and scoring against both Worthing and Torquay during a fabulous FA Trophy run.
On securing the centre-forward, manager Danny Greaves said: "I'm absolutely delighted that Meakesy has made a return. We kept in touch throughout last season and always had an understanding that the door was open for him to return. During our promotion season, he was a revelation scoring 8 goals in 10 starts, and making great impact off the bench in the face of fierce competition from Kane Simpson, Jon Davies and James Ollis.
"In the past 12 months he has spent time in the National League South with St Albans City and a short spell on loan at Hayes and Yeading. Another year older and wiser, with more experience under his belt, I am excited to see what he can do this season!"
On his return to Badgers Hill, Sam said: "I’m buzzing to be back playing for Frome! I really enjoyed my previous stint with the club and the aim was always to come back when I returned to the area.
"I was unlucky with injury last season and missed a lot of football, so feel like I have a lot to prove, but I'm very excited to get back playing and get the club back to where it belongs.
"I’m looking forward to the challenge of next season and hoping to contribute as much as possible, going one step further this year and winning the league! UTFR!"
