Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, probes a final pre-season test against Step 5 opposition.
It's friendly No. 5 for the Scarlet Runners with a trip to the Cossham Street home of old adversaries Mangotsfield United who will be sure to provide a challenging test with the start of their own Hellenic League campaign only a week away.

But for play-off defeat last term, this would have been a Southern League fixture for 2025-26 as the Mangos bid to regain their Step Four status lost in relegation three years ago.
In that 2021-22 season, the Robins too suffered a play-off setback, but, along the way, managed a treble over their Bristol-based opponents, winning 3-0 (home) and 2-0 (away, a late Kane Simpson double) after edging a tense Badgers Hill FA Cup tie thanks to a solitary Rex Mannings strike.
It's time now to see what the new names can do and one instant difference Frome followers will notice from their last visit will be the impressive 3G pitch.
For the players, after many pre-season minutes on rock hard summer surfaces, that should be quite a relief.
Squad Update
Manager Danny Greaves will be happy to have striker, Archie Ferris, back after his unavailability at the weekend. Keeper Kyle Phillips will miss the fixture in Bristol but is expected to return to action by the weekend
In his post-match interview after the win at Bournemouth Poppies, the manager also said: "It will be a really tough game at Mangotsfield! They're a good side who got into the play-offs in the Hellenic League last year and they beat Chippenham in their first game of pre-season.
"I've been up to watch them - they're my local side. They're well-coached and have lots of technical players and will test us in a different way, so hopefully we can showcase a little bit more about what we're about. Pre-season gets tougher week after week so that's what I'm expecting."
The latest information on ticketing, which can be bought on the gate, is as follows:
Adults - £6
Concessions - £4
Under 18s - £1
Under 12s - Free
